WHAT IS PHYSICAL THERAPY?

Physical therapy involves a series of non-invasive treatments and manual therapies designed to target injuries in the musculoskeletal system and restore function and movement to the body. Physical therapy can address anything from a sports-related injury to chronic pain and inflammation. In many cases, proactive physical therapy is shown to drastically reduce the need for orthopedic surgery.

What is Acupuncture | Dry Needling?

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that focuses on restoring energy balance, while Dry Needling is a modern technique used by physical therapists to release muscle tension.

It’s worth noting that while Dry Needling is practiced by physical therapists in many states, California is one of the few states where physical therapists are not permitted to perform this technique. However, since California has licensed acupuncturists who are trained in Dry Needling, patients in the state can benefit from this therapy. Research has shown that incorporating Dry Needling into your physical therapy sessions can significantly enhance recovery time, manage pain, and reduce inflammation, leading to remarkable results.

What is chiropractic, and how is it different from physical therapy?

Chiropractic focuses on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal issues, primarily in the spine, using manual adjustments. Physical therapy, on the other hand, aims to improve movement and functionality through exercises and hands-on techniques. After completing PT, chiropractic care and massage therapy can support wellness and injury prevention. Chiropractic helps maintain spinal alignment, while massage therapy promotes relaxation and relieves muscle tension. Together, they can contribute to ongoing health and well-being.

HOW DO I KNOW IF PHYSICAL THERAPY WILL HELP ME?

Most people who are recovering from surgery or are experiencing acute | chronic pain typically brought on by movement would benefit from physical therapy. With that said, just about everyone would benefit from a movement assessment for injury prevention by seeing a physical therapist.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

You should bring your ID and insurance card to your first appointment. You should also bring any prescription information, patient forms and accident claims/workers comp paperwork that is applicable to your injury.

Wear loose-fitting clothes that are easy to move and exercise in. Please bring a water bottle as we have an ionized water machine for your use.

Does rehabilitation hurt?

Rehabilitation is not designed to hurt but sometimes can be uncomfortable. Depending on the treatment techniques, your therapist may need to do a technique that will be uncomfortable for a brief moment but typically you will feel relief immediately following. In some cases, it is normal to be a bit more sore following a session but the pain typically alleviates as well.

Do you accept insurance or self-pay clients?

We accept both insurance and self-pay clients. You can contact our office to verify your insurance prior to your first visit. If we do not accept your current insurance, we offer a discounted self-pay option due at the time of service. We also accept workers compensation and some personal injury cases and liens. Are your therapists licensed?

All of our therapists are doctors and licensed by the state of California and have successfully completed accredited therapy programs. Some of our therapists are also certified specialists in the fields of sports physical therapy, concsusions, titleist golf, USA weightlifting, yoga and certified strength and conditioning specialists.

What’s the game plan after recovery?

Upon recovering from injury the patients transition into a higher level functional program.
