Proteus® Power Testing and Training

It’s not always easy to measure how much strength and power you truly have. While lifting weights or raising the speed on your treadmill can give you some idea, there’s actually a machine that can properly analyze and measure your power and strength. Your physical therapist at REPAIR SI can use this information to determine the training programs that will work best for your abilities.

Proteus® is a system that puts people, especially athletes, through more than a dozen full-body exercises so that their trainer or physical therapist can see where there is room for improvement. Then they can decide on the training that will help boost the quality of their overall athletic performance.

How Proteus Power Testing and Training Can Help Athletes

The Proteus system is an award-winning device that combines performance testing and resistance training to help athletes improve their strength and power. It provides a full-body test of 15 exercises that can measure an athlete’s movement in every direction. The goal of Proteus power testing is to determine the athlete’s strengths and weaknesses so that the therapist can plan the best training programs for their specific needs.

After testing your power and strength, your physical therapist will move you on to the training programs that utilize the Proteus system. It will assist you in a variety of exercises that will help your overall fitness and athletic performance. In fact, it can help you achieve twice the amount of neuromuscular stimulation when compared to free weights and cables.

Even though it can be used to help anyone who wants to improve their fitness, the Proteus system is most often used to help athletes who are working with physical therapists. The system can benefit athletes in a variety of sports, including:

  • Volleyball.
  • Golf.
  • Basketball.
  • Baseball.

The system is also used to help athletes recover from an injury. There are targeted exercises that can help you rehabilitate the areas of your body that have been impacted by an injury so that you can get back to playing.

Proteus power testing and training can help you recover from injuries that occur in your:

  • Ankle.
  • Knee.
  • Shoulder.
  • Back.
