These tendons are engaged frequently, which is why the condition is called tennis elbow. However, tennis elbow can affect anyone, not just tennis players. When the tissue in the forearm is subjected to too much stress, it can become inflamed. As a result, you may feel pain throughout this area. Pain and tenderness around the outer part of the elbow are also common.
  • Golfer’s elbow — Golfer’s elbow, or medial epicondylitis, is similar to tennis elbow. Golfer’s elbow is another overuse injury affecting the forearm tendons. The main difference is that it mainly affects the inside of the elbow rather than the outside. Research shows that golfer’s elbow is much less common than tennis elbow. However, it still affects many people. Age is a big factor with golfer’s elbow. People aged 40-60 tend to be more vulnerable. If you have golfer’s elbow, you may experience pain, swelling and tenderness around the inside of your elbow. Rest is essential to treating this condition.   • Tendinitis — Tendons play an important role in the body. These bands of connective tissue serve to connect muscles and bones, enabling limb movement. While tendons serve many vital purposes in the body, they can also be a major source of pain due to conditions like tendinitis. Tendinitis refers to inflammation of the tendons. This is generally caused by repetitive stress on the tendons. If your forearm tendons are inflamed, your forearm may feel stiff and painful. You may notice some swelling around the tendons. Tendinitis pain tends to worsen with movement. If you have tendinitis, resting your arm is essential to recovery.   • Carpal tunnel syndrome — The carpal tunnel is a canal in the wrist. It houses the median nerve, which runs through the arm and into the hand.
