CHIROPRACTOR
Dr. John DeWitt, D.C., brings his experience with sports injuries to his RepairSI patients as a chiropractor. He graduated from Vanderbilt University where he was awarded a full athletic scholarship after finishing the first semester. He went on to earn a doctor of chiropractic degree from Los Angeles Chiropractic College after retiring from football.
After his first semester at Vanderbilt University, he was starting defensive end for the following four years. His extensive football career included playing for the San Francisco Demons of the XFL, Montreal Alouettes of the CFL, NFL Europe Champion Scottish Claymores and NFL Houston Oilers. He also played on several AFL teams, including three seasons as an LA Avenger.
After watching the 2015 film “Concussion,” he was inspired to revisit his head injuries and write “Head Games: Concussions and CTE, Where Do We Go From Here?” He has penned more than a dozen books covering a wide range of topics, including golf injuries, college scholarships, setting goals and natural vision correction.
Dr. DeWitt has a daily podcast, “BrainBuilders,” as well as an online course, “BrainBuilders Masterclass.” He discusses current research on methods that are not only stopping but reversing cognitive decline in people with cognitive issues, such as Alzheimer’s disease and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Dr. DeWitt focuses on the efficacy of nutrition-based healing for concussions as well as how it can help prevent severe side effects that stem from head trauma.
